My name is Samantha, and I am the founder of Building Bridges Resources. I earned my bachelor's degree in Child and Adolescent Development, with a minor in Special Education, from San Francisco State University in 2023. Currently, I serve as a Senior Early Interventionist, working with children aged 1-3 years and their families. The concept of Building Bridges originated during my college years when I worked as a Behavioral Technician and observed that many families were first introduced to the disability community following their child's Autism Spectrum diagnosis. Through hearing their stories, I realized that navigating the various systems to access services and support was challenging for many families. They often felt isolated and lacked access to local resources. My mission is to connect families of children with disabilities to the resources they need, helping them understand and educate themselves about the available support in their community. Providing educational opportunities is crucial for families new to the concept of disability.

Parents are their child's first teachers and strongest advocates, which makes collaboration between professionals and families essential providing comprehensive support. This partnership ensures that all systems work together effectively to support the child's overall development.

What we provide:

We provide strategies and resources to assist families in nurturing their child's development at home. Families are vital to their child's growth, and our mission is to share insights about child development, connect them with local resources, and create a community of parents who feel empowered to make positive choices for themselves and their children. As an educator, I prioritize ensuring our resources reflect the diverse cultural identities and languages found in our East Bay Community. We provide targeted strategies for common parenting challenges and affordable home activities, aiming to support the early stages of your child's life to enhance their health, school readiness, and overall well-being.
